Where did we come from?
The first meeting of the Second Baptist Church of Dover was held on May 24, 1794 in an old church building located at the Valley View Cemetery. This building was used only in the summer, and in the winter the congregation met in private homes. The current building was erected in 1832, and was remodeled in 1868.
Where are we now?
We are still here! The Second Baptist Church of Dover today is a diverse group of believers. We have come together with one purpose: to grow in the faith and knowledge of God, and to share the good news of our savior Jesus Christ in our community.
What do we do?
We worship together. We pray together. We read the Bible and learn about it together. We enjoy each other's company. We get together to share meals. We do what we can for our community, individually and as a group. We welcome you to come in and get to know us. We would love to meet you!
